A dissertation or thesis is a document that present’s the author's research and result and is submitted in support of contention for a degree or professional qualification. The word "thesis" comes from a Greek word which means "position", and refers to an intellectual proposition, whereas "Dissertation" comes from a Latin term and means "discourse” or “dialogue”.
So we can safely derive a definition of dissertation that is, a presentation of dialogue on a specific topic about its approval or rejection with prove and evidences in a defined way can be called dissertation.
