10 Ways to Energize Your Day

From a coaching perspective, energy is a mindset. In this top 10 list, Coach Katie Mattson invites you to turn up your energy and face your day head on.

1. Wake up and stretch-enjoy the first moments when you open your eyes and engage your body in movement.

2. Create a masterpiece of a breakfast for yourself to nourish your body and wake up your mind.

3. Listen to music that will energize your mood while you are getting ready or throughout the day.

4. Keep a candle or fragrance nearby that invigorates your spirit.

5. Pay attention to the textures around you that crave your touch-grass, sand, wooden floors, berber carpet, rice grains…etc.

6. Take mental still frames of sights throughout your day that would make award winning photographs. That old couple sitting on the bench, steam rising off a lake, the sun rising through the trees, cars in gridlock. Find beauty in your atmosphere.

7. Listen to the kind words people say to you such as compliments and thanks or sincere observations.

8. Find perfection in your moment. Allow yourself to give 100% to each task, even it seems trivial. Know that you are exactly where you are meant to be.

9. Give yourself at least 30 minutes when you get home to decompress from the day’s activities.

10. Take breaks throughout your day to allow your mind to rest. Breaks mean walking away and detaching yourself from the job at hand.
