Charm Your Guests with Affordable Invitations and Announcements

Verbal invitations are out formal, elaborate, proposals are in. However, posh caligrophy comes with a hefty price tag. This article shows its readers how to charm their guests with ornate stationery, without the steep price synonymous with fancy stationery.
The days of simplicity are gone. Used to be you'd call up a few friends and invite them over to celebrate a birthday, a birth, or a graduation. Today you can't get away with eloping without an invitation or announcement.
Fortunately, there are a couple of straightforward ideas, which every professional knows, that you can easily incorporate into your own design, to give you a class look without having to fall back on high-class expenditures.
Everyone loves monograms. They shout out style, expense, and all around luxury. You can NOT easily reproduce that on your own printer, but how about a watermark? It carries many of the same innuendoes, and is much easier to reproduce. Take your design, your logo, your initials in a nice Script font, (it really doesn't matter what you choose), and fade it out so that it's almost invisible. Make sure you include it on every page: envelopes, inserts, invitations, announcements. EVERYTHING connected to your event. Congratulations. Now you've got your watermark.
Make your invitation seasonal. It will feel much less off-the-shelf if it reflects the season, and even the event. You shouldn't lock yourself in to bland off-white. Add accents, images, or even small pieces of nature (twig, sprig, leaf or seed!) to reflect the season your event is scheduled for. Anchoring your event in time makes it more than just a generic birthday; now it's a winter happening. Your baby becomes the announcer of autumn, and not just a blank baby.
And lastly, make your invitation memorable. By creating something other than a repetition of standard wording, you'll get your guests excited about the event long before its time comes. Is your bridal shower just another bridal shower, or is it going to be an EVENT? Why not hint from your first contact, your special invitation, that what's coming is a little special. It'll help get your guests there, and that's in the end what will make it the special event you want it to be.
