As people in the United States are watching the war between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon they are reminded of past periods of human conflict. The cycles of Sirens and people running into shelters and scaring of societies is reminiscent of days gone by. Someday perhaps in a hundred years or so human wars and human conflict will be a thing of the past. It seems rather ridiculous to destroy civilizations, infrastructure and kill innocent human life over a difference in religious belief or political impasse.

The human species needs to grow up and get beyond this violent activity of war and yet we see no end in sight as each side shouts with all the human vigor they can muster into the microphones of world reporters. Sometimes it appears that it is a game of human intimidation and exploiting the media. At other times we see sheer violence, death and destruction of civilizations.

The human race owes it to themselves to get beyond war and joining in a common cause of all humanity in order to move all mankind into the future and maintain a forward progression. Philosophically or is unfortunate, even though it seems to be an innate characteristic of humankind. The devastation of societies and nations in the cycles of Sirens and shelters is ripping apart the fabric of human interaction and cooperation, which is also an innate characteristic of mankind. Surely at this late stage in human evolution, they ought to be able to do better than this.
