Decisions to speak locally, regionally, or nationally. Or internationally. Decisions to be a lone ranger doing it all yourself or to hire and manage staff. Decisions to be controversial, to make waves, or not.
Decisions regarding whether to concentrate on breakout sessions in major forums or to hold out for the big room and only accept general sessions or keynotes.
Family decisions...to enroll your kids in the NSA youth program or not. (That’s a no-brainer!)
Marketing decisions. Program design decisions. Presentation decisions, in the moment, as you stand before your audience.
Do you want to make your decisions faster and smarter? Don’t think. Instead, feel. Discover your intuitive edge. Listen to your gut.
Albert Einstein was asked about his incredible capacity to process information. When asked how he did it he said he thinks with his whole body. So can you. Your body is a sensitive receiver. It perceives and processes intelligence non-linearly. In a twinkling. And it knows.
An etching of Dr. Einstein hangs on my office wall. He handed it to my grandmother’s younger sister, circa 1934. She gave it to me. I look to it for inspiration from time to time.
How did he do it? More important, how can you do it? Listen to your gut.
Emerson said, What lies behind you and what lies before you are as nothing compared to what lies within you.
Here’s how to discover what lies within you: First quiet your mind. Be still and know. For me, the daily practice of meditation proved to be the key. (Ask me to send you a little handout to get you started.)
Next, believe that inside of you, you already know everything. Because you do. And listen to your inner voice. To your hunches. To your feelings. To your gentle urges. Be as a little child.
Tell yourself you can be a samurai. The samurai knows and in the moment of knowing, acts. You can do the same.
Toss a coin. Given a choice between 2 options, toss a coin. Say to yourself, heads I’ll do this; tails I’ll do that. Then toss the coin. Don’t abide by the coin toss. Abide by the feelings the coin toss engenders. This is simple and it works.
Dr. Willis Harmon, President of the Institute of Noetic Sciences, said, Everyone has access to an intuitive ability. He continued, Have the willingness to allow this inner knowing to surface. Your higher self, with its access to infinite wisdom, knows. It simply knows. Listen to no other voice.
Listen to no other voice. Powerful words of an intellectual giant.

In 1975 I started to meditate. This opened up my intuition as never before. Within 2 years I walked away from a successful real estate career and a Malibu lifestyle. I listened to my gut and, with no preparation, no training, no looking back, declared myself to be a speaker.
Today I know I’ve found my right work. I’ve never been more fulfilled. I simply listen to my inner voice. I listen to my gut.
Listen to your gut every time a decision is to be made. Discover your intuitive edge. You then move your speaking career and your life into a new dimension of fulfillment and gratification.
