The massive change in household structure happens to occur at around the time when most ladies are dealing with menopause.
Many have tolerated or put up with a situation for as long as the family is together and once this change takes place sometimes make drastic and difficult decisions that eliminate the marriage. This may be done to save a life or keep the sanity but not always necessary. Quite often menopause happens to be the season in life when these major decisions are made.
As many are life breaking or life changing a huge amount of wisdom, and analysis must be put into this change of life.
A family living together could have unintentionally added a huge amount of stress and strain to the marriage. Husbands and wives are often short of quiet times for discussion and romance whilst there are more than two in the house.
The main focus is often being someone’s parent rather than a person in your own right. Food is prepared out of necessity rather than a treat. Finances are budgeted around the cost of existence for the whole house rather than that additional special treat.
Unless the situation is beyond repair a special effort of consideration rekindling an old flame is worth the effort from both the pocket and the heart.
