Well the Federal Trade Commission has lost two laptops filled with over 100 peoples personal information and identity. Can you believe this? Many are said to be employees, but some are defendants in cases? They say the laptops were stolen out of locked cars? But personally I think they are lying, in fact I think they purposely allowed those laptops to be stolen or gave them to other authorities in violation of the rights of the defendants. Either way the Federal Trade Commission is either the most incompetent agency on the face of the Earth seeing as it is in-charge of Protecting Americans from Identity Theft or it is fraudulently lying again and allowing information to change hands without red tape.

The agency claimed that; “The letters being sent to the individuals, some of whom are defendants in current and past FTC cases, explain the type of information about that individual that may have been on the laptop, and the steps the individuals should consider taking to limit their risk of identity theft. The FTC will offer these individuals one year of free credit monitoring.”

Big deal free credit reporting after that incompetent or unlawful maneuver? No way? What a disgusting agency in my opinion (this whole article is really). Consider this in 2006 and let’s not trust the Government to protect us from Identity Theft; they cannot even protect themselves. Consider this in 2006.
