Mommy Makeovers Prevent Housewife Horrors

Mommy makeovers can help you lose that baby fat fast and get your body back to the toned wonder you had in high school.

The popularity of mommy makeovers has risen following the recent wave of celebrity pregnancies.  A few years ago, the enthusiasm in the media about Britney Spears, Katie Holmes, Demi Moore, etc squelched the anti-domestic public sentiment fostered by shows like Seinfeld and Sex and the City.  However, the new wave of public pregnancies was not followed by an acceptance of the likely changes to the woman's body that would follow.  For example, when Maxim magazine for men ran a story on the "Hottest Moms," it promoted the expectation that the women would be as attractive as ever following their pregnancies.  This is shown in the public backlash against Britney Spears' "overweight" appearance on MTV's music awards, a criticism that she has apparently taken to heart.  Suddenly, society seems to have become aware of the natural consequences of pregnancy have become horribly apparent to all those who so eagerly rushed to meet the call of maternal duty.

Now, of course, some things are permanent.  Once you have a baby, you're pretty much stuck with having a baby, but some of these consequences are reversible.  For women who have seen dramatic consequences to your appearance as a result of your pregnancy and/or breast-feeding, you can still look as good as or better than you looked before becoming pregnant.

A woman's body goes through major transformations during pregnancy.  Her abdomen expands and her breasts swell.  She gains weight in a number of locations dependent on her personal genetics, sometimes very specific areas and sometimes as general body weight.  These changes inevitably leave their mark, worsened by the physical and emotional stress of child-rearing.  The breasts sag, and stretched skin is permanently marked.  Many women are unable to lose the weight gained, and, even those that can find their sagging skin is no longer sufficiently elastic to shrink back onto their smaller frame.

Being caught between these inevitable consequences and the expectations of beauty can lead to serious depression.  To help women facing this circumstance, plastic surgeons are offering what they call "mommy makeover" packages.  These packages address the variety of negative effects by combining body contouring to counteract the bodily changes caused by the physical stresses of childbirth, and facial rejuvenation to counteract the effects of the more emotional stresses and general consequences of aging.

Because the changes experienced by the body during pregnancy and after are global, the body contouring packages are equally global. Liposuction can provide a solution for women who have been unable to lose body fat in specific areas, but if necessary, tummy tucks can be used to take care of the loose, inelastic skin some women experience after losing their baby weight.  One of the few things about pregnancy that make a woman feel more attractive, the swelling of their breasts can transform small or adequate but pert breasts into shrunken and ptotic (sagging) ones. However, breast lifts can counter the sagging.  Breast augmentation is recommended for women who feel too much shrinking has occurred.

No woman wants to turn into a "housewife horror," and thankfully, with the mommy makeover package, no woman has to.  Soft-tissue fillers can counteract the sunken appearance resulting from nights staying up with the baby.  In addition, Botox injections can diminish frown lines and crow's feet that come from stressing over a child's first months.  In addition, a Vitalize Peel can make a woman's skin look young and taut, even if she has not had enough time to practice proper skin care for a year or so.  Finally, why shouldn't she get those unsightly spider veins treated so she can step out on the town in her favorite little black dress (if she can find a sitter).

Being a mother is a life-long commitment, make no mistake.  And it's inevitable that the stress of it is going to take a toll on a woman's body.  But the days when a woman would grow older and less-attractive looking after childbirth while her husband would simply get "distinguished" are gone.  Nowadays, there are two things she can do to keep looking her best despite being a mother: she can get a mommy makeover, and she can make her husband pull his share of the load.
