What is Battery Capacity?Batteries die! It is a natural phenomena that occurs when the useful life of a battery reaches the point of no longer holding a charge. There are technical reasons why batteries degrade and lose their ability to power a device that include: declining capacity, increasing internal resistance, elevated self-discharge, and premature voltage cut-off on discharge. Today I want to write about battery capacity and its impact within the design of a battery and how the loss of battery capacity eventually causes a battery to stop holding a charge.

Why Teach Kids "Unpractical" and "Useless Words" ?I have never encountered the word brobdingnagian in a sentence, and I highly doubt it will be on the SATs. My ten-year-old daughter will probably have little immediate use for anthropomorphism, truculent, or prolix. She is unlikely to encounter them on the W.A.S.L (Washington State Assessment of Learning) that her friends prepared for all spring. But then again, she won't have to prepare for the test either. Washington DC School District Takes Aim at Language and Cultural EducationIn 2004, the Washington D.C. enacted the Language Access Act. The Act was created in order to grant greater access to and participation in public schools and other public services for those residents that have limited or no English proficiency. The Act is designed to address four crucial areas of language use and access to public services. These four areas are: the need for and the offering of oral language services; providing of written translation of key documents into other languages that have populations constitutes 3% or 500 individuals, whichever is less, of the population served or encountered, or likely to be served or encountered; establishment of language access plans that best services these populations; and finally creating language access coordination.
