There's an exciting surge of passion that comes when you lay eyes on a good-looking man who just "does it for you!" Most women have experienced this at least once in their lives. Having a physical attraction to a man based on external attributes is common, but most have found that it is not enough to judge a book by its' cover alone.
When you first meet someone, the elements of excitement and mystery can sometimes cause you to enter into a new relationship too quickly. People often put their best “face” forward and do not want you to know what they really are like. Time can be your best friend in new encounters because eventually people reveal themselves as they really are and not as they appear to be.
Moving too quickly to make a permanent arrangement can result in regret, misery, and even danger. Domestic violence and abuse are rampant in our families and communities—and many of those who are victims have realized too late that the perpetrator painted an entirely different picture of who they were.
What your physical eye cannot do is see beyond what is on the surface. What’s inside of a person’s heart and mind is beneath the surface. Once the initial "impression" stage ends, the true traits of an individual begin to come out. That's when you are in a better position to actually "see" what you are getting. Just because he may be charming and good-looking doesn't mean he has character and integrity.
When you allow time to be your ally, what is hidden will usually come forth in their conversations and actions. Whether it be the man who taps your "hot button" or new people entering into your life, be mindful that when people do show you who they really are—it's to your advantage to believe them!
