Cambodian News Release: Second Agreement between Visile City, France and Cambodian Apsara Authority
Phnom Penh: Agreement on cooperation between Cambodian Apsara Authority and Visile Public Institution, France, has been held in the second time on the evening of June 2, 2006, at the Cambodian Office of the Council of Ministers, Phnom Penh. Deputy Prime Minister, His Excellency SOK An, Minister of the Office of the Council of Ministers, presided over the ceremony.
This second cooperation agreement was held in the goal of developing and preserving the Angkor compound. This agreement has three important aspects: 1- discussion cooperation within the vocation of management, preservation and the development; 2- Dissemination Cambodian officials to conduct studies in Visile; and 3- Inviting experts from Visile to help Cambodia as needed.
The Deputy Prime Minister SOK An addressed that the cooperation agreement herewith is the priority program amongst the priority foundation which will have been implemented from 2006 up to 2009.
This agreement concretely stipulates the aspects to be managed within the four-year duration; such as scenery [trees and jungle around the compound] management, mechanism to help tourists see every part of this small compound and not to impact the environment; the good management and art performance in this prohibited compound, administration over the tourist group, commercial advertisement within the prohibited area, internet management in the preservation and development vocation. The most important point is to smooth the facilitation in different aspects of the management and preservation of the Angkor compound.
His Deputy Prime Minister SOK An addressed that: in the heyday of tourism industry and tourist population, management capacity is needed to maintain the environment of our resort [Angkor compound].
It is worth to address that in the first time; 2002, Visile city singed with the Apsara Authority in order to preserve and develop Angkor compound. The Visile city of France is the traditional city situated the royal palace of France’s fourteenth king, the celebrated emperor in Europe.
