Spring is Here: Turn the Spring-Cleaning Discards of Others into Profits for You
Author: Michael Mould
Every spring, people clear out their unwanted things and donate them to their favorite charities. The books they donate could be turned into profits for you.
For the past five years I have been selling books online as a supplemental income. In that time I have found dramatic Springtime increases in the number of good quality books available in my local library Friends of the Library fundraising shelves, the local thrift stores, and the clearance shelves of the local chain bookstore. I can only attribute this to a large influx of donations from traditional Spring-cleaning.
If you are contemplating getting into online bookselling, now is the time, for two reasons.
First, it is the best time of the year to acquire inventory from the sources I listed above and there are many more library book sales in the Spring and Summer.
Second, this is an industry that is growing rapidly and those that get into it early will be able to establish an inventory and reputation that can survive and flourish when others procrastinate and flounder. The industry is still relatively young, but the attention it is getting owing to the low risk, small investment, and high profit margins, is adding droves of new sellers each day.
That said, if you are still on the fence, don't wait too long and miss the inventory opportunities of the next few months.
