When we see a child having a lean body and wearing torn clothes our heart fills with sympathy. We keep our hand in the pocket and bring out some money to give him. We have a satisfaction of doing a good deed. But do we really do a good deed by providing money to him?
When we see a child having a lean body and wearing torn clothes our heart fills with sympathy. We keep our hand in the pocket and bring out some money to give him. We have a satisfaction of doing a good deed. But do we really do a good deed by providing money to him?
Answer of most of the people of this question would be that according to the religious teaching helping a person in need is a good deed, so there is no doubt that helping the child by giving money is a good deed. I feel, people having this thinking are not spiritually enlightened and do not know the exact meaning of the religious teaching.
Religious teaching says us to help a person to be strong, confident and self dependent but by giving money we do exactly the opposite of it. We make the child habitual of begging as a result the whole life he is compelled to depend on others. We make him weak. When he depends on others he is never able to take charge of his life consequently he never feels himself confident.
Even in God’s eye it is a sin. If we really believe in God and want to implement the religious teaching we should help the child to study, work and develop. We will definitely be awarded by God.
